Up for sale is a nice quality antique ornate figural cast iron expandable book shelf. It’s made of thick cast iron and brass, is done with a very elaborately cast reticulated design, and has acquired a lovely patina from age. The hinged bookends feature detailed owls done in high relief surrounded by exquisite Deco design. Each bookend is mounted to three cylindrical rods that are expandable and collapsable. It’s in nice antique condition and each bookend measures 6 1/2 inches wide by 5 inches tall. At its largest adjustment it measures 22 1/2 inches and at its shortest it measures 11 3/4 inches long.
