Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a pair of gorgeous Tiffany Studios textured dore’ bronze bookends in the ABALONE pattern #1173, c. The Abalone pattern is named for the thin abalone shell discs mounted in the recesses as decoration. There are three medallions in the design containing a total of 25 abalone discs on each bookend. The bottom of the base platform on each bookend is stamped “Tiffany Studios, New York, 1173″. Measures 5 1/2″ high and 5 3/8″ wide. Weighs 2.10 pounds. These nice bookends are in very good to excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. The gilt finish reflects normal aged patina and the abalone discs have bright iridescent coloring. One side panel is slightly loose and we are not going to attempt to tighten it. There are three brads on the bottom for this purpose which we will leave to the next owner.
