Art Nouveau and Rookwood pottery lovers! Rookwood Flower Basket Bookends Dated 1927 Designed By. These are wonderful pair of Rookwood Flower Basket bookends, designed by Rookwoods finest artist, Kataro Shirayamadani. They are beautifully glazed in blues, greens, yellows and pink. They are marked with a shape number of 2837 and dated XXVII. They are approximately 6″ tall 5 3/4″ wide and 3 1/2 deep. They were made in 1929 and are in excellent condition with no cracks, chips and no crazing. Smoke and pet-free home. Kataro Shirayamadani was considered a gifted designer and artist for Rookwood and designed an outstanding quality set of art pottery polychrome floral bookends. Floral basket bookends are hard to find and show a high degree of depth and range of polychrome color! The overall design is truly wonderful work of art designed by this Rookwood artist!
