Rare pair of antique MICROPHONE bookends is cast iron with a patinated copper finish. The microphone is a copy of a 1920s double button carbon microphone also known as a closed ring microphone. The bookends weigh almost 3 pounds each. These are really uncommon, the early microphone with mesh details worked in the iron sits on its Art Deco style stepped base. The height is 6, the width is 4 ¾ Radio letters WJAY. This was a radio station active in Cleveland, Ohio in the early 1930’s. Condition as shown with a bit of patina missing on front middle of one mic. Missing Y on one bookend.
