VTG MCM ART DECO BRASS DOVE PIGEON BOOKENDS JAPANESE Stuttgart Germany Label. Since I have TWO, I must assume these are bookends. They weigh about 4 lbs. I cannot further identify them – except that there is a very worn label on one (see photo) that has a date “1987” and a city name: Stuttgart. Having no other reference point, I must assume these were made in Germany. There is another label with numerals I assume is a stock number, etc. Excellent condition, with a nice soft patina. Very evocative of the brief 1980’s ART DECO semi-revival in home furnishings. These are a very powerful design statement, influenced by their strong mid-century Japanese styling.
