Here is a fantastic pair of Pompeian Bronze Clad bookends depicting Hercules kneeling on his lion cape, which he made from the pelt of the Nemian Lion. Each bookend measures 6-1/4 inches long, 2-3/4 inches wide, and 6-3/4 inches tall. They are in original paint, with the lion being painted in natural tones, and the Greek Hercules sculpted in the Art Deco Style with original red paint highlights made to look like aged and burnished bronze. There is some minor paint loss, visible in the photos. There is a depression in the top of his head, which I think is part of the bronzing process. They are not signed.
