For your consideration is wonderful set of Art Deco FRANKART Infants Reading Bookends, Model No. New York, NY, produced a variety of nude lady lamps, bookends, ashtrays, and other decorative Art Deco items in the 1920s and 1930s. This is seemingly a very rare set as we could only find a couple images of single examples when searching on the net. The set depicts a cute child sitting on a pillow while reading a large book. They were published in the 1930-31 FRANKART handbook and are described as ” Charming infants to guard your charming volumes “. They are properly signed. 6½” tall by 5″ wide and are rather heavy weighing over 5lbs each. They are in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks or repairs with age/use related wear. The gun metal finish shows wear but appears to be original, we have not cleaned them and the bottoms are covered with aged felt. A very rare and unique set! – – – -.
