Offering an authentic pair of Art Deco bronze clad “Atlas of the World” bookends with a crested parrot sitting on top of the open books. Made by the Pompeian Bronze Company, New York, circa 1920s. They are both signed on the bottom with the traditional “Pompeian Bronze” engraving. The face and back of the book are painted with a Cerulean blue and green enamel with orange enamel paint on the crests and feet of the birds. The remaining color is the wonderfully aged patina of the bronze clad. The crests on one of the birds has been slightly crushed but no breaks in the bronze. Parrots are trending right now and these make a great décor item for the Boho Chic and Palm Beach style design.
