This is a beautiful and 100% original set of functional and decorative bookends from the Art Deco Era of the 1920’s. The casting is detailed and very high quality. They are plated in an antique brass-like finish that is in excellent condition. Marked “66” on the base. These are as good as it gets – beautiful condition and 100% original – not a re-strike or reproduction. These Art Deco cast iron bookends were made almost 100 years ago at the height of the Roaring 20’s. Art Deco was a flamboyant and futuristic art form that reflected the high spirits and decadence of the 1920’s. These are great examples of Art Deco bookends, and would be a great addition to anyone’s collection! Weight: 8 lbs total. Size: (see photos for size). Rarity: 4 (see Rarity Scale below). Condition: Very good condition. Antique Brass finish is in good condition. A small amount of rubbing on backside of bookends, due to where they would have been placed against books when in use. I will pack them carefully to ensure their safe arrival. 1-2: VERY COMMON – Consistently available online or at antique malls at all times. 3: COMMON – Available with regularity, typically seen several times online or at antique malls or shows. 4: UNCOMMON – In online sales, may be seen as often as several times a month. I have amassed an amazing collection of beautiful, rare, and high quality bookends. Many bookends from my collection have been featured in the popular bookend history and value guide, ? S Encyclopedia of Bookends? Published 2006 by Dr Louis Kuritzky and Charles De Costa. I want to share my passion for these wonderful and forgotten works of art, and offer pieces of my collection to you so you can enjoy them as much as I have!
