RARE Ronson Plated and Enameled Arab Scholar Bookends 1923
Thank you for looking at this wonderful pair of Arab Scholar bookends manufactured by Ronson in 1923. They are made of metal plated in what looks like brass, with dark magenta, purple, yellow, black and white enamel. They are 3 5/8″ tall and the bases are 3 1/4″ x 2 1/2. Each piece is marked L. Aronson 1923 on the back. These bookends are in exceptional condition. The plating has a really nice patina. There are a few spots where the plating has rubbed off, primarily on the backs and base corners, but these are small and not very noticeable, especially when placed against books. Except for a couple of tiny chips in the white on the book pages, the enamel looks flawless and is still quite shiny. The original felt is still on the bottoms, but is worn. Please message me with any questions you may have.
